Don't Buy These Terrible Three

I work hard for my money and I don’t like spending it on products that are terrible. To save you from shelling out your hard earned dollars on products that are awful, here are three products that are not worth your money.

Cover Girl Blast Flipstick

300

I bought the colour Stunner because it looked so beautiful with a coral shade on one end and a gold shade on the other end. First off the smell is horrible – like old lady perfume. When I applied it it went on with this gritty, cakey feel. As for being long-wearing, it lasted quite a long time but dried out my lips to the point that it took 2 days to get them back to normal. Awful product and a waste of money.

Garnier Fructis Melting Masque Strength & Repair

garnier

Tried this product on my hair and wished I never had. The smell and texture were both fine and when I washed it off my hair felt pretty good. The shock was when my hair was dry. It was a total static dry mess! Not only that it took several days and deep conditioning to get my hair back to looking good once again. Once again, awful product and a waste of money.

L’Occitane En Provence Shea Butter Hand Cream

loccitane_hand

At $30 for 150 ml I thought that this hand cream had better deliver. Upon applying it, it totally reeked an overpowering flowery smell. And this after the website says, “The minimal scent makes it suitable for men and women.” If they think that is “minimal scent” I’d hate to see what they think a strong scent is! On top of things instead of getting rid of my dry hands this cream irritated and burned my hands. A pathetic product not worth even a dollar.

Hope this helps you to save your money for all the wonderful products out there!

Tuesday's OOTW - Rockin' August

Last weekend Tim and I went to see Trooper and April Wine. I needed a rockin’ outfit for this event so this is what I came up with:

Earrings Forever 21 $5 (for three pairs) // Necklace ebay $6 // Leather Jacket Danier $129 (similar) //  Tank  H&M $15 // Cuff ebay $6 // Jeans WAL-MART $20 (similar) // Shoes Spring $25 (in stores now)

I’m wearing a Boston tank so I thought some Bostons were in order. Zeke is on the left and Cooper is in my arms.

First New Post At Our New Website!

Just wanted to take a moment to welcome everyone to our new website designed by me (Joelle) and my husband! Although Zeke sat on my lap for a lot of it, he felt designing was beneath him. I think he couldn’t do it because he has no opposable thumbs. We’ll agree to disagree.

As I mentioned on my last post at http://clothesbutnotquite.blogspot.ca, this website still needs a bit of work such as a better banner, cute purse social media icons, and some other graphics which will be all designed by my husband (Isn’t it great having a graphic designer for a husband?). Despite all of that we decided to announce it now. Why you may ask? It’s okay you can ask us. It’s because we want to start posting at our new site so we don’t have to keep moving Blogger posts here once we complete them. Ain’t nobody got time for that! We sure don’t.

We hope you enjoy it here as much as we do at  www.clothesbutnotquite.com. Please give us some love for there are exciting things coming very soon.

Thanks for all of your support!

Friday's Faux Paw

First off, I'd like to thank everyone who has sent me well wishes. I am feeling a lot better now.

Today's faux paw is about wearing the correct bra. I saw a woman the other day who looked like she had a set of boobs on her back because her bra was way too tight and riding up causing back fat to ooze out underneath. Not an attractive look!

Here are tips to make sure you get the correct bra for your size:

  1. Get a tape measure and put on the best bra that you have.
  2. Measure your band size by putting the tape measure around the bottom of the bra. Write it down in inches.
  3. Meaure your bust size by putting the tape around your breasts at the fullest point, which typically is where your nipples are. Write it down in inches.
  4. Figure out the cup size by subtracting the band size from the bust size.If your bust size is less than 1 inch bigger than your band size, you’re a cup size AA, 1-inch difference = A, 2-inch difference = B,3-inch difference = C, 4-inch difference = D, 5-inch difference = DD.

Now go out and get the right bra. Or if you're having difficulties, go and see a professional bra fitter. Otherwise I give this rating:

Peachy Keen

This dress is super girly and that's why I love it. Even though it's such a pretty peach colour, I decided to add a pop of colour with a turquoise belt and earrings. A stack of animal print bracelets and some peep toed pumps to show off my new manicure (Essie's hip-anema, I love you!) and I'm off to enjoy the nice weather while it lasts.

Dress H & M $15 (in stores) // Belt Reitmans $3 (in stores) // Earrings i heart accessories (ebay similar) // Bracelets ebay $8 (I won mine on an auction for $3!) // Shoes Spring $20 (similar)
